IGNOU Education (ignoueducation.com) is an independent information and admission counselling website. It is not affiliated with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and is not the official IGNOU website. For official information, visit ignou.ac.in.
Who runs this site
This website is run by the IGNOU Education editorial team, a small team that researches open and online degree programmes in India and offers free admission counselling to students who ask for it. We are not employed by IGNOU, we do not award degrees and we cannot make admission decisions.
Why we built it
IGNOU information is spread across several admission portals, prospectus PDFs and Regional Centre notices, and figures often conflict. We bring the official facts together in plain language, explain any conflicts and show where each fact comes from.
Editorial policy
- Official sources first. Fees, dates, eligibility, syllabus and recognition come from IGNOU's own portals, prospectuses and notices, and from regulators such as UGC and AICTE. We link the source next to the fact.
- Conflicts explained. When two official sources disagree, we show both, say which one we use and why.
- No invented numbers. We do not publish placement rates, salary figures, recruiter lists or reviews that we cannot trace to an official or clearly named source. If something is not published, we say so.
- Dated checks. Key pages show a “Last updated” date. We re-check fees and admission dates when a new admission cycle opens.
- Corrections. If you spot an error, email hello@ignoueducation.com with the page link and the official source. We correct verified errors promptly and update the date on the page.
- Independence. Our counselling is free. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of admission, placements or outcomes. The university's decision and its official website always prevail.
